Tired of seeing the same image every time you log into and log off your PC? Would you like to change the default logon screen to something else? If your answer is “yes” to both questions, then you need the LogonStudio application and the functionality it has to offer. This Stardock-developed tool lets you change the default logon screen with one of several good looking, built-in screens; and it also lets you choose an image of your own to use as the logon screen.

To run LogonStudio on your machine, it must meet the following system requirements: 512MB of RAM or more, 10MB of free disk space, monitor capable of 1024x768 resolution, Windows 7/Vista/XP. A modern PC will easily meet these system requirements, and that’s quite nice.

LogonStudio uses a green-themed interface that’s quite easy to figure out: the pane to the right displays all the logon screens you could use on your PC while to the left there are buttons for creating your own screens, downloading, loading, and uploading screens. Such a simple interface will not pose a problem to anyone. A quick glance at it and you will immediately feel at home.

Using LogonStudio is an equally simple process: just select one of the many logon screens presented by the application and hit the Apply button (alternatively, you can just double click a logon screen). Once the LogonStudio does its job, you will be presented with the new logon screen. It is as simple as that.

Perhaps you don’t want to enable any of the available logon screens, perhaps you want to use one of your own images as the logon screen. You can easily do that with the LogonStudio application. Hit the Create button, enter a name for the new logon screen, select the image you have in mind, hit Save, and you’re done. You now have a logon screen that shows off your image.

LogonStudio is a free program. You can enjoy the functionality it has to offer for free for as long as you want.

Don’t stick with the default Windows logon screen. Get the LogonStudio application and change it to anything you want.

Pros

LogonStudio’s system requirements are so low that any modern PC will easily meet them. The application’s interface displays a long list of available logon screens; you can download more and you can create your own logon screen. After enabling a new logon screen, it is presented to you. LogonStudio is a free program.

Cons

None that I could think of.
